Inclusive Activity Murihiku (iAM) is excited to be hosting a festival of fun and participation for young people aged 5 to 21 with a disability. Young people with all types of disability and levels of required assistance are welcome.
The Games have been designed as a two-day festival of fun for young people with a disability, aimed at providing opportunities to experience a range of adapted sports at venues around the city.
Friends and whānau accompanying their young person are encourage to get involved with the fun along side them. All participants must have a responsible adult with them at all times.
Sessions last an hour, and free transport is provided between activities on Saturday. Sunday is based at the ILT Stadium Southland.
Sports include arachery, basketball, boccia, clip n climb, circuit training, cricket, cycling, duathlon, football, golf, hockey, indoor bowls, ki-o-rahi, netball, pickleball, rugby, and swimming. There's something for everyone!
Event details and schedule
Saturday 13th September
9am Stadium Southland Pick up your registration pack and take part in the opening ceremony. Buses depart for activities around town.
Buses will run on a loop between activities every hour.
3pm Event closes at Stadium Southland
Sunday 14th September
All activities at Stadium Southland.
10am start
3pm Closing ceremony
Please bring:
Comfortable clothes and trainers - a spare set of clothes is a good idea as we can get wet and muddy. Be prepared for cold and wet weather, and sunshine!
Swimming togs and a towel if headed to the pool.
Drinks bottle.
Lunch is provided for athletes, everyone else please bring your own.
