About the talk:
Update your knowledge on some of feline medicine’s most challenging (and rewarding) conditions!
Dr. Lacie Lee will share her clinical insights, decision-making tips, and real-world treatment strategies on topics every small animal vet faces, especially those working to improve outcomes in their feline patients with compassion and confidence.
Some topics we’ll be covering:
• FIP – Still mysterious, still evolving. Learn how to recognize and manage FIP, including how to differentiate clinical signs from treatment side effects, when to choose one drug over another, and what to do when relapse strikes.
• SGLT2 Inhibitors – Get the dos and don’ts of this class in daily practice, including which patients are best suited, how to manage these cats’ financial burden, and what success looks like in patients thriving on these meds.
• CKD & Anemia – Not sure when to start treatment or how to choose between Varenzin C1 and a synthetic erythropoietin? Dr. Lacie will share exactly how she makes those calls in her own cases.
• FGF23 and Cystatin B – Are these just test results on a panel, or tools we can use to improve our medicine? Learn how to incorporate these biomarkers into good clinical decision-making for your CKD cats!
• Bonqat – Why bother with Bonqat when gabapentin exists? Discover how this option helps feline visits become smoother and more rewarding, for the cat and the caregiver.
• Feline Hyperthyroidism – Care Center is opening a specialized I-131 treatment facility, built with feline comfort and seamless referral partnerships in mind. Dr. Lacie is proud to partner with local veterinarians in offering a safe, effective cure for feline hyperthyroidism - the only endocrine disease we can truly cure in cats!
• Emerging Drug Studies – Learn what’s on the horizon, including efforts to reverse CKD and improve survival in cats with CHF/HCM.
Dr. Lacie will also share the guides and informational handouts she uses daily in practice, with plenty of time for Q&A and open discussion. You’ll leave with fresh clinical perspective, immediately applicable tools, and a renewed enthusiasm for feline medicine.
Teaching is one of Dr. Lacie’s greatest passions, and she’s honored to have the opportunity to connect with fellow veterinarians, share her experiences, and support the growth of feline-focused care in our community. Let’s purr-fect our feline practice together with the latest tools, the most compassionate care, and a great meal among great company.
We hope you'll join us!
