STRUNG OUT: playing EXILE IN OBLIVION in its entirety, with special guest Death By Stereo at Turntable in Indianapolis on Tuesday, July 15, 2025!
STRUNG OUT
Strung Out are a long-running California band whose sound over the years has traversed skate punk, metal, and melodic hardcore. Debuting with a mixture of punk speed and metal guitar power, they were mainstays of the punk circuit for decades, playing hardcore anthems with anti-authority attitude on '90s efforts like their debut Another Day in Paradise and 1996's Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues. At the turn of the millennium, Strung Out began evolving with the more melodic approach heard on 1998's Twisted by Design and 2002's An American Paradox, the latter was their first to chart on the Billboard 200. Incorporating speedy riffs, darker tones, and mature introspection, they continued into the 2010s with Transmission.Alpha.Delta and the fiery Songs of Armor and Devotion. Returning in 2024 after a five-year gap, the band released their tenth album, Dead Rebellion.
Formed in 1989 with a lineup featuring vocalist Jason Cruz, guitarists Jake Kiley and Rob Ramos, bassist Jim Cherry, and drummer Adam Austin (by the time Strung Out released their first 7", Austin had been replaced by Jordan Burns), the quintet signed with NOFX bassist Fat Mike's Fat Wreck Chords label in 1993 and issued a debut album, Another Day in Paradise, the following year.
Death By Stereo
Since their inception in 1998, DEATH BY STEREO has been balancing consciousness and chaos with their unique genre-bending amalgam of hardcore, metal, and punk. Previously, the band released their last five studio records via Epitaph, Indecision, and Serjical Strike Records.
DBS, as they are known by many of their loyal followers, have assembled a worldwide fan base built upon a seemingly endless international tour schedule, with enough passport stamps to make many of their contemporaries jealous. They have shared the stage many times over with the likes of Slipknot, AFI, Serj Tankian, Avenged Sevenfold, and Rise Against, just to name a few. They have headlined some of the biggest and best festivals around the world (Germany’s “With Full Force”, Belgium’s “Grozerock”, the U.S.‘s “Warped Tour”, and Colombia’s “Rock Al Parque”). Having toured in over 20 countries is an accomplishment few bands of any stature can lay claim to.
