Join us as we honor a legacy built through bold storytelling, artistic expression, and community-driven innovation.

About this Event

On Friday, August 1st, from 6-9pm, celebrate with us for the 130th Anniversary of the Indianapolis Recorder, one of the oldest African American-owned newspapers in the United States.

Walk through India Cruse-Griffin's vibrant exhibition in the Lift Gallery, take a ride in the colorful karaoke elevator up to the third floor Sky Gallery, and enjoy artist Johnson Simon's powerful collaborative show.

On the Sky Deck, the festivities will continue with networking opportunities and DJ music by Brooke Billions. Wander around and discover other exhibitions and exciting events throughout the night! Visit BakeCon for some tasty treats in the Historic Gymnasium, head to the Courtyard for a croquet break, and much more.

Keep an eye out for a second collaborative 130th Anniversary event on September 5, from 6-9pm!
