Instructors
Robin Brown/host: Indian Valley, Idaho
Stockmanship is an essential part of me and the way I train. Because of my upbringing on cattle ranches. Everything in my training is simple. Pressure and the release are key to success. I feel Like I have been a pioneer and trail blazer for the upcoming generations of female dog trainers. Who I know can excel with their dogs at higher levels and raise the bar like I have done. I am very blessed and feel so fortunate do to what I have done for the past 35 years. My biggest accomplishments are 3x National Open Champion titles and Nursey and Nevada’s Best Cow dog series Champion for 4 consecutive years. Art of The Cowgirl Master Cow Dog Trainer and 2024 World Stock Dog Reserve Champion with Burndale Ben in Calgary, Alberta Canada It is also the hundreds of dogs I have placed in the ranchers’ hands across the U.S Canada and over Sea’s. I have memories I will never forget, friends I would have never met, and dogs that have helped make me a better trainer. I thank The Lord every day and have gratitude that is ever present.
David Henderson/Northumberland, UK of Burndale Kennels
Born and raised on the family farm in the Pennine Hills in the north of England, David was involved with sheep from the time he could walk. Border collies were an integral part of the everyday sheep work and remain so to this day. In his young adult years, he left home to shepherd in the Scottish Borders, where I had the experience of handling even larger flocks. This required me to keep and train more dogs to do the work efficiently. Later he became interested in trialing, which has been very enjoyable and rewarding. David has had the great honor of representing England at the International Sheepdog Championships on multiple occasions and twice at the World Trial. “The knowledge I gained from some of the best sheepdog handlers in Scotland has been invaluable. Ten years ago, came the chance to return home to the family farm and concentrate on breeding, training, and selling my own line of border collies, under the Burndale prefix. I have had the great pleasure of seeing my dogs go on to perform well in many countries around the world. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunities and friendships I have gained through my love for border collies.” David is an amazing trainer/ Handler. I am so fortunate to have him here as one of my instructors this year. He has a very natural talent with dogs His background is working dogs for a purpose on his sheep farm, which produces great thinking dogs. I have 3 dogs on my ranch from Davids Kennel and they are outstanding working dogs, very competitive in performance trialing cattle and sheep both.
Kaelene Forsyth/ Manitoba, Canada
