Perspectives with BelligerentCrow Works and Maddie Lai

We’re pretty excited about bringing these two amazing humans into the studio. BelligerentCrow Works has been an inspiration of mine for almost 2 years now. I met her in a concert where she was doing a pop-up painting that she does and that was the first time I think I ever saw a community painting. We all participated and added our little flare to a piece. But the goal was not to have everyone contribute to make a single object like a fruit basket or a boat or anything like that, the goal was just to get you to put paint on the canvas. There’s no single theme there was no direction. It was just put whatever you want on there and that is good enough. If you’ve ever heard me say everyone is an artist I got that from BelligerentCrow. She believes it and she lives it. I’ve bought many of her pieces over the last two years, and they are some of my favorites in my whole collection.
�I recently met Maddie Lai at the ULAHPalooza fundraiser. I was there to perform as Russell the love muscle and Maddie happened to be in the crowd. Heath Church knew her from a show they did together and he introduced us and I told her about Lavender and what we like to do and she came out to the studio and offered to be on the roster of featured artists!
While I was preparing to put the flyer together, I found out that she also teaches music lessons with piano, guitar, ukulele, or voice. How fun is that?
