Exploring Kansas Genealogy: Tracing Your Roots in the Sunflower State (Hybrid)

This class will guide participants through the process of researching their Kansas ancestors, with a focus on the historical, cultural, and archival resources available to genealogists. Students will learn how to navigate a variety of records, including census, military, land, vital, and tribal records, while also exploring the distinct history of Kansas and its role in westward expansion, Native American heritage, and settlement patterns. This class will be held in person as well as virtually via Zoom simultaneously. Registration is required and closes one hour before the start of the program. Please indicate whether you will be attending in person or virtually when registering. An email address is required when registering to attend on Zoom. All start times are Central Standard Time.
