The All Ears Listening Club returns to Ilkley after a five-year hiatus. The All-Ears Listening Club ran from 2016 to 2020, each event featuring six half-hour collections of music based around themes chosen by the music selectors.
Next month, All-Ears Listening Club returns, now hosted by local promoters Village Pavilion at Bini Brew’s Taphouse. Whether the theme is simply a favourite musical artist or perhaps something a little more creative, you’ll be sure to hear some interesting stuff and perhaps be introduced to something new.
Common in Tokyo, listening parties, and more recently venues dedicated to listening to recorded music, have been popping up in the UK over the last decade, with the first listening venue in Leeds opening in 2024.
Whilst they don’t class themselves as a listening bar, Bini Brew’s taphouse in Ilkley has a very considered sound system, thanks to music-loving owner James, who worked as a sound technician in a previous life.
‘We’re bringing this event back to Ilkley, in partnership with Bini, because of their great drinks, relaxed taphouse atmosphere and, for their sound system!’ say Village Pavilion.
Everyone is invited to suggest musical themes for future events - ‘it’s not DJing’ Village Pavilion say, ‘simply selecting and sharing - with Village Pavilion - 30 minutes of music in advance! Themes for the 2nd July event include ‘Music Recorded Underground’, ‘Shuggie Otis & Ray Barbee’ and ‘Songs to Die For’’.
