VE Day Lighting of the Beacon

Join us in Ilkeston for the 80th Anniversary of VE Day!

On Thursday 8 May, beacons will be lit across the country to mark this historic occasion — including right here in Victoria Park.

What to expect:
• Free event
• Live brass band music
• Beacon lighting at 9:30pm (part of a nationwide tribute)
• From 8:00pm to 10:00pm

The Mayor of Erewash will be in attendance as we honour Victory in Europe Day — the day the Allies accepted Germany’s surrender and WWII in Europe officially ended.

Everyone is welcome. Let’s come together and remember.
