MYSTERY OF THE SEVENTH MONTH 3
THE MONTH OF SABBATH
"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation." Leviticus 23:24.
The Lord is so particular about rest. He called the first day of the month, the day to lay the foundation for the whole month, sabbath.
Sabbath means the Lord's day. The period we will rest from labour and sweating. Yet, we will eat without scarceness.
The Sabbath also tells of when to seek the face of God in repentance, restitution, consecration and fresh commitment.
It is a conscious observance of the word of God than other months. The kind of rest required is not to be idle and do nothing. He wants us to cease this month to make inventory of our lives, dismantle our loads, remove the shaff from the grains and keep the virile grains to the Lord.
He set aside the seventh month to discard weights and lighten our loads that makes us drag and sluggish in life and ministry, instead of walking majestically , smartly and smoothly on this way.
Many don't see it as a period of festivity and worshiping the Lord. Be merry in the Lord. Celebrate God. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.
Forget your challenges, because the Almighty has all the might to silence every negative force fighting against your life and wellness.
The easiest way to put shadow and darkness behind you is to face the light. Face God, the light of the world, unwavering this month and witness the transformation that will follow your actions.
"Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you." Exodus 31:13.
Sanctify yourself and let the Holy God come into your camp this month. Among His entourage are goodness and mercy, favour and safety. May they all be our portion in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, as I rest from labour from today, let favour replace labour in Jesus name.
