Join us on Saturday, 22 November at 12:00 PM outside Minister Steve Kamper’s Electorate Office in Rockdale as we call on him to reject the MMP report proposing to turn Carnarvon Golf Course into a cemetery.
Earlier this year, Minister Kamper publicly stated that New South Wales has enough burial space for years to come. So what has changed? Why is the government now considering a plan that goes against his own words, state planning guidelines, and the overwhelming opposition from the community?
The MMP report could be biased and deeply flawed, it breaks state guidelines, lacks proper study, and failed to carry out genuine community consultation. This proposal is culturally insensitive, socially unjust, and environmentally irresponsible.
We are calling on Minister Kamper to:
✅ Reject and not consider the MMP plan to turn Carnarvon Golf Course into a cemetery
✅ Meet with the community and hear directly from those affected
✅ Protect our open green space for future generations
