Join prairie expert John Blakeman for a hands-on seed collection experience at the McBride Arboretum, located on the beautiful BGSU Firelands Campus in Huron, Ohio.This event is perfect for anyone interested in native plants, prairie restoration, and learning how mature prairie ecosystems thrive.
What to Expect-Learn to identify and hand-strip seeds from a variety of native prairie plants-Visit multiple prairie plots, each offering unique seed species to collect-See firsthand what a mature prairie looks like and understand the role of forbs and grasses in restoration projects-Gain insider tips from one of Ohio’s leading prairie experts
What to Bring-Sack lunch (no refrigeration available); WOGC will provide drinks and snacks-Comfortable walking shoes-Water and sun protection
