About the film:
Fried Green Tomatoes is a 1991 American comedy-drama film directed by Jon Avnet, based on Fannie Flagg's 1987 novel "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe." The film tells the story of an unhappy housewife who befriends an older woman in a nursing home, who shares tales of her past, including the lives of two women who ran the Whistle Stop Cafe. The film features a notable cast, including Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy, and Mary Stuart Masterson. It explores themes of friendship, love, and resilience against societal challenges.
