About the event

The Addicted Brain- Understanding the Neuroscience of Substance Use
"In this lecture, we’ll explore the neuroscience behind addiction, breaking down how drugs and alcohol interact with the brain—specifically the relationship between the frontal cortex and the midbrain. We’ll examine how substances hijack the brain’s survival instincts, altering behavior, decision-making, and personality. Through a blend of science and personal testimony, we’ll walk through the progression of addiction, making complex brain processes easy to understand while illustrating the real-life impact of this disease."

Brett Young, CEO of Bradford's Alabama PHP programs, will be leading this lecture. This is a free event taking place at the NOMA office open to anyone wanting to learn more about the addicted brain.
