We are excited to welcome Norse völva Karin Dahlstrom back to the meadery for a beautiful weekend of deepening and strengthening your connection with the runes.
Karin will be accompanied by two of her apprentices, Christeen Fogh and Kerri Colwell.

Happy Hour Meet & Greet
Free & open to the public
Karin will be at the meadery to say hello to old friends and to welcome new ones. All House mead pours will be 50% off during this time.
We do not serve food, but there are several restaurants on site that serve food to go, you are welcome to bring it into the meadery!
If this is your first visit to Lowe Mill you may want to arrive early and wander the facility as this is an amazing environment for creatives.

Sacred Tools of the Norse
A lecture by Karin Dahlstrom

Certain tools hold significant spiritual weight in Norse spiritualism and were likely used in various ceremonies and practices. Drinking horns, songs, mead, runes, and other objects were often used as sacred tools. They were imbued with magical properties and used for divination, spell work, and invoking specific energies. Learn more about some of these sacred tools and how they can enhance your spiritual path.
Note: For those interested, Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment will be hosting an outdoor market all day, there is a little time to explore the market or the Mill before Karin's book reading.

Karin will be talking about, and reading from, her brand new book: RUNE CASTING: OBSERVATIONS THROUGH A MODERN LENS. Books will be available for sale in Niflheim all weekend, and Karin will be happy to sign your book for you.
From Three Little Sisters publishing: "This book offers a unique perspective on the multifaceted nature of runes. Bridging the gap between tradition and spirituality, the author explores the historical context of runes within Norse culture, delving into their potential as more than just a writing system. The book provides practical techniques for rune casting, drawing inspiration from themes of animism, sound, and manifestation."

May Pole Dance
(included in your weekend ticket)
Originally, the May Pole was a living tree. Over time it became a tree trunk of the correct height, age, and species (usually birch or pine). It is said that the tree represented masculine energy, and the ribbons and floral garlands that adorned it represented feminine energy. The maypole is a reminder that spring has sprung and rebirth has begun.
We will be setting up a May Pole on the East Lawn (under the water tower), ribbons will be provided.

Sunday 11 May

Rune Creation
This is an all day experience and includes a boxed lunch
(included in your weekend ticket at the bottom of the page)
Individual ticket: $200 (see below)
Connect intimately with the runes by creating a set with your own energy, intent, and hands.
We will prepare an altar with offerings and Karin and her apprentices will perform an opening ceremony to set intention and create a sacred space, followed by a bone tapping and shamanic drum journey to wash away the stresses of the every day and to prepare for connecting with the rune 'stones' you are about to bring into existence.
Come prepared to lay or sit comfortably on the floor for this segment.
PLEASE BRING A MAT, AMINAL FUR, OR BLANKET to lay on
Let us know if you need to borrow something.
We will provide you with foraged items as well as other materials to create your set with. We do have some wood burners for those who would like to go this route, but if you have your own, or one to share, please bring it.
You will also be constructing a simple rabbit skin drawstring bag to keep your new runes in, which can also be used as a small casting cloth.
