Reptile Day

Burritt on the Mountain is excited to partner with The North Alabama Zoological Society and Beth Girard, a naturalist with Tim’s Ford Nature Center, for Reptile Day. NALZS will showcase their reptile ambassadors, and Beth Girard will bring her menagerie of reptiles, including a legless lizard and a blue-tongue skink. Burritt will also introduce you to our education snake ambassadors! Not only will you get the chance to learn about these incredible creatures, but we will also have engaging craft activities for kids to create. Whether you’re a reptile enthusiast or just curious, there’s something for everyone! Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with nature and unleash your creativity.
All Learn – Explore events are included in general admission and are free to Burritt members. Admission also includes an opportunity to be a Burritt Backpack Explorer. Ask at the Welcome Center for more details. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Schedule of Events:
• Create reptile crafts in the Historic Park 9am-4pm
• NALZS Reptile Ambassadors Onsite 10am-Noon
• NALZS Turtle and Snake show 10:30 and 11:30 in the Church
• Beth Girard and her reptile friends 2-3:30pm in the Church
• Meet Sal and Quazi Burritt's snake ambassador’s 10am-10:45am and 3:15-4pm in the Bendickson Family Pavilion
• Become a Backpack Explorer 9am-5pm
• Rocket City Ice Cream 10:00am-4:00pmKids can create reptile crafts to take home, and Rocket City Ice Cream will be onsite too.
