As the fireworks start early this year, let's help our furry friends stay safe, calm, and cared for.
Here are some tips to prepare your pets:
🐶 Let Them Out Early:
Try to walk or let your pets out before dark so they can go potty and get some exercise before the noise starts.
🍽️ Feed Them a Little Earlier:
If they normally eat dinner in the evening, serve it a bit early so they can digest and potty in time before the fireworks begin.
🔒 Secure Their Safe Space:
Create a cozy, quiet spot in your home where your pets feel safe — a crate, a closet, or a room with soothing music or white noise.
🎵 Use Calming Sounds:
Play soft music, turn on the TV, or use a white noise machine to help muffle the booms.
💊 Calming Aids (If Needed):
Consider natural calming aids like CBD treats, anxiety wraps, or consult your vet for recommendations.
🏡 Keep Them Inside:
Even if your pet is usually fine outside, fireworks can cause sudden panic and escape attempts. Keep windows closed and doors secure.
🆔 Make Sure Tags/Microchips Are Up to Date:
In case they get spooked and run, current info could be life-saving.
