“exCITEd” S.T.E.M. with SHSU

How do dreams become ideas, and ideas become reality? How does one take the desire to work for themselves and create a new business? How do you break through the obstacles of a job and advance with career opportunities? You can discover the answer to these questions and many more at SHSU’s monthly “exCITEd” S.T.E.M. workshop- a place for discovery! Join us on Thursday, July 17, from 5:00 - 6:30 pm, no registration required. Sponsored by the SHSU Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, this monthly, hands-on workshop will present informative programs covering a range of innovations and technologies. Appropriate for ages 8 to 80. July’s workshop will focus on an introduction to robotics through the study of levers.


What is a “lever”?

· A rigid bar that is pivoted around a fulcrum, used to apply force to a load.

· A handle that you move to control a machine or device.

· A simple machine that gives a mechanical advantage.
