Dear Peake Youth & Parents,
We are so excited to be gearing up for another amazing year at Peake Youth! We will be resuming our “Journey” services on Wednesday, September 10.
This year, God is granting us a vision for discipleship that is family-wide and based firmly on the Word of God.
Peake Youth will be meeting in the main building of Chesapeake Church. Our combined (middle and high school) sessions will be held in the Reception Room. In our current plan, this combined, full-group time will be about 15 minutes long and include worship, games, and a short teaching.
The main focus of our ministry this year will be on small groups, which will continue to be separated by grade and gender. Our teens will have 45 minutes to walk through our passage of Scripture with our faithful, dedicated, caring, creative, and fun small group leaders & mentors who care deeply about these teens. We will still have our 15-minute hangout time beforehand, and will incorporate some games/rec time. Our main focus will be God's Word and our time "doing life" with the teens in small groups.
We will be basing our studies on the Gospel of John for the entire school year, following the same reading plan as the adults and children. Each leader and teen will receive a new NLT Bible to use for our study this year. As you shop for back to school, please consider picking up a journal for your teen to take notes at Journey.
We can’t wait to see you on Wednesday, September 10, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. As always, check-in and hangout time will begin at 6:45 PM. We will send more information about where to check in as the date approaches.
