In Texas, state legislators are denying quorum to stop Trump’s attempt to rig the 2026 midterms. But Trump’s not stopping there: he’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida, and yes, even West Virginia, to tip the scales in his favor and silence everyday people.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about redistricting. It’s about whether billionaires and political insiders get to decide everything for us, or whether working people still have a voice in our own government. Trump and his corporate backers know they can’t win on their ideas (like cutting Social Security, gutting unions, or letting billionaires dodge taxes) so they’re trying to take power by hook or by crook. And they’re doing it by silencing communities that already have to fight the hardest to be heard.
Here in West Virginia, we know what it’s like to have politicians sell us out, whether it’s to out-of-state coal barons, corporate lobbyists, or Wall Street donors. But our history is also a history of standing up for fairness, for our neighbors, and for the right to be heard.
On Saturday, August 16, we’re joining people across the country to say loud and clear: We see what Trump is doing, and we won’t stand for it!
