What: Showing the film ‘Im Weissen Rössl’ (White Horse Inn).…and now for something just a bit different.
This is the Austrian State Broadcast of the 2008 performance of the Ralf Benatzky/Robert Stolz operetta ‘White Horse Inn’, with its colourful lakeside staging, great singing and complex plot – fortunately we have English sub-titles!
Set before the First World War, the show manages to meld country simplicity, urban nouveau riche and imperial involvement with delightful music.
