A Complete Unknown, directed by James Mangold, follows a young Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet) as he arrives in New York City in 1961, seeking folk legend Woody Guthrie. Under Pete Seeger’s guidance, Dylan rises in the Greenwich Village folk scene, forging key relationships with Joan Baez and girlfriend Sylvie Russo. As his fame grows, he struggles with artistic expectations, culminating in his controversial electric performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. The film captures Dylan’s transformation from folk troubadour to rock icon, showcasing his early career and musical evolution.
