Limestone Way Long Distance Footpath through the stunning Derbyshire Dales
29th July to the 2nd August 2025
Anne will guide you along this wonderful walk through the heart of the Derbyshire Dales/ Peak District. Starting from Castleton Hope Valley and hiking to Rochester in Staffordshire. The route will take us through stunning countryside and rolling landscape of the Derbyshire Dales.
Distance – 74km
Day 1 Castleton to Miller’s Dale – 13km (staying at Ravenstor YHA)
Day 2 Miller’s Dale – Youlgreave – 17.5km (staying at Youlgreave YHA)
Day 3 Youlgreave – Matlock 14km
Day 4 – Matlock – Thorpe 21km (main accommodation is at Ilam Hall YHA extra 3 km)
Day 5 – Thorpe/Ilam YH to Rocester 16km
Accommodation – Clients to book their own accommodation. I will be staying at Youth Hostels and a B&B/hotel in Matlock.
Meeting Point – Castleton Village Hope Valley at 10.30am on the 30th July
Max. participation – 10 clients
Cost – £100
Clients will need to arrange their own accommodation for the 4 nights, transport to Castleton and back from Rochester and buy food/meals along the route.
All clients will need to have the appropriate fitness for hiking 74km + and be able to carry their own belongings in a rucksack.

Transport to Castleton – you can get the train to Hope from Manchester or Sheffield (short walk to Castleton or use the bus).
Transport for Rochester – public bus or taxi to Uttoxeter (on the Derby- Crewe train line)
