🌿 Next Group Hike – Derwent Dam 🌿
I’m really looking forward to our next group hike and heading out to Derwent Dam — such a beautiful spot and perfect for a social walk.
This will be a relaxed, scenic hike with plenty of time to take in the views, let the dogs enjoy themselves, and have a good chat along the way. As always, we’ll keep a steady, comfortable pace with stops when needed — no rushing, just enjoying the walk together.
📍 Location: Derwent Dam (meet at the main car park at the visitors centre, just outside the building)

⏰ Meet time: 9am Set off, arrive with plenty of time to park
🥾 Distance: Approx 6 miles
⏱ Duration: Around 2.5–3 hours
⛰ Difficulty: Easy / Moderate
🐕 Dogs welcome
Dogs are very welcome on this hike. Some areas may require dogs to be kept on leads, particularly around livestock and wildlife. This helps keep everyone safe and the walk enjoyable for all — thank you 💚
🚗 Parking
There is parking available at Derwent Dam, the visitors centre,though it can get busy, especially at weekends. Please allow a little extra time so we can set off together once everyone has arrived.
What to bring:
• Suitable footwear (uneven ground and muddy patches likely)
• Water & snacks
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Leads for dogs
This hike is ideal if you enjoy longer walks, beautiful scenery, and walking with a friendly group of people and dogs. If you can’t make this one, there will be more group hikes coming up 😊
