Free Family Fishing Day-Kinney Lake

The Eastern Grasslands Coalition is hosting a Family Fishing Day at Kinney Lake State Wildlife Area on Friday June 20 from 8 am to 12 pm.

Kids under 16 fish for free! People over the age of 16 must have a fishing license. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will stock the lake and provide free fishing poles to the first 30 kids who arrive. This event is for everyone whether you are an experienced fisherman or it is your first time. Come out to enjoy the summer with this family friendly event!

Guided bird walks are available for anyone who would like to explore this birding hot spot. Kinney Lake is home to a wide variety of birds from the Eastern Plains who use the lake during migration.

Kinney Lake is located off of County Road 33 Hugo CO. Approximately 1 hour from the Colorado Springs.

Directions: From the north go south from Hugo on CR 32 to CR 2J. Turn east on 2J and go one mile to the entrance. From the south go north on CR 32 from CO 94. Turn east on 2J and go one mile to the entrance.
