Park Theater Hudson is excited to welcome back Winged Monkeys for their Summer Pieces series featuring an evening of 7 Hot Original Plays written by: Kathleen Dennhey, Shae D’lyn, Jeffrey Doornbos, Adam Forgash, Geoffrey Nauffts, Adam Tomei, and Joseph Walsh. Performances of Summer Pieces will begin on July 18th @7pm followed by a showing on July 19th @7pm and concluding with a matinee on Sunday July 20th @3pm.
Wingéd Monkeys began as an open communal collaboration, on February 25th, 2024, in the Hudson Valley, by seasoned theatre, film, & tv professionals. The very first event was a reading of a classic play, with 27 of the 40 audience members reading roles cold. It was a triumphant celebration of the magic of flying by the seat of your pants.
Next, we launched our series, Pieces: playwrights bringing original short works to the stage, rehearsed and produced with minimal sets, costumes, & effects. The bare-bones aspects not only spark the imagination of the audience, but allow us to bring high-quality & affordable theatre to the Hudson Valley community, furthering our goal of intimacy and camaraderie.
