The Beast of Holmfirth, Festival Celebration Event with Sarah Morrell

This event is a celebration of the fantastic creativity of the children in the Holme Valley and is the perfect way to close our festival; with the next generation of writers and artists. Join us for a celebration of writing, world building and creativity as we design our own story of The Beast of Holmfirth with Sarah Morrell and showcase some of the fabulous creations from pupils in local schools.

A Head Full of Magic is Sarah's debut middle-grade book that is bursting with talking animals, flying Nan’s and friendships she didn’t realise she needed. Shortlisted by The Week Junior for Cover of the Year 2025, the book features Fleur Marie Bottom who discovers she can hear her nan’s African Grey parrot talk. Will the most unlikely of friendships help her defeat hockey-loving, ankle- smashing, new class bully Celeste ‘The Best’ once and for all?!

When Sarah is not writing, she loves nothing more than to swim, run and bike in the hills of Holmfirth which helps to balance out her daily intake of cake.

This is a FREE event but tickets are required.
