Join us on Sunday 7th September to walk the Trees In Mind Trail.
Since we last had an 'official' team walk, the manhole cover / poem plaque has been placed in Slaithwaite and we have a final plaque now ready to place along the route. We'll be stopping at those two locations alongside all the other poem plaques on the route.
We will set off at 10am from Cafe Central, Milnsbridge.
If you want a late breakfast, join us a bit earlier: the trail team will be there from around 9.00am.
The trail leads up the Colne Valley from Milnsbridge to Marsden and finishes at the WW1 memorial woodland above Butterley Reservoir in Marsden, which was planted by Colne Valley Tree Society in 2015.
The 9.5 mile Trees In Mind Trail between Milnsbridge and Marsden is a mix of townscape, woodland, canalside and agricultural land with some ascents and descents in places.
We pass places of significance for some of the fallen in WW1. And there are lots of great views along the way.
Bring snacks and drinks, but there are some opportunities to get food en route (just don't rely on it). Depending on the forecast, please bring wet weather clothes and stout shoes/boots etc.
