"Then Again" Paintings by James Conlan, Opening Reception

Seven Sisters Gallery presents an exhibition of paintings by Houston artist, James Conlan. This unique exhibit showcases some of the paintings Conlan created during his career in the 1970s, before he took a prolonged hiatus from the visual art world. Five decades later, Conlan rediscovered his love of painting, producing a vibrant companion body of work. These two groups of paintings bookend a lifetime of experience and artistic journey. Conlan calls them "Inscapes" abstract paintings depicting the merger of land, sea, and sky, which he first explored while serving in the Peace Corp in the Marshall Islands.
The Gallery will host an artist's reception on Saturday, August 16 from 3-5pm, with music by jazz guitarist Stephane Badreau. Beverages will be served.
The exhibition is on view from August 9th through August 20th, 2025.
