This workshop is designed for photographers who are ready to slow down and create more intentional, evocative portraiture. Whether you're working with clients, models, or muses, this class is about crafting images that are built, not just captured.

We will explore how to shape light to serve a purpose, how to guide mood through direction and expression, and how to refine composition to elevate emotional resonance. This isn’t about quick setups or high-speed experimentation. This is about stillness, precision, and presence behind the lens.

What we’ll cover:– Controlled lighting: Understanding light as sculpture. Modifiers, precision.– Mood direction: Creating emotional tone with intention—both visually and interpersonally.– Composition with purpose: Beyond the rule of thirds. Framing with narrative awareness.– Intentional posing: Small adjustments, big differences. Emotive positioning without over-direction.– Working with talent: Slowing down your subject’s energy to meet your vision.– Vision planning: What are you trying to say—and are you creating space for that to come through?

This workshop is hands-on. Bring your camera and be ready to shoot deliberately, not just test settings. I’ll walk you through my process for constructing portraits from the ground up—not merely adjusting exposure or lighting, but aligning all elements to achieve cohesion.
