Emerging from the winter months of rest and reflection, we began to tiptoe into spring, a season of awakening.
Winter asked us to slow down, turn in, and rest. It can be dark both literal and metaphorical. A time for us to face shadows, face parts of ourselves that we sometimes push to the side during busier and brighter times.
Spring invites you to reawaken.
To move.
To bloom.
This is an invitation to ask yourself what are you ready to leave behind during this transition?
What parts of you are ready to reawaken?

10am -Doors open and we welcome anyone that would like to help set up the space.
10:30am- Warmup begins.
11am- Opening circle leading into Ecstatic Dance.
12:30- Closing circle, announcements, and community post dance activities.

DANCER AGREEMENTS
(in Ecstatic Dance Houston we agree to play this way)
SOBER EVENT (substance free - allow the dance to be your conscious altering method)
BAREFOOT DANCE (shoes off dance floor, socks are ok)
REMOVE JEWELRY (remove any items that could harm yourself or other dancers - watches, rings, necklaces, earrings)
NO PHOTOS/VIDEOS (store devices away and be completely immersed in dance)
NON VERBAL SPACE (noises are welcome - cries, laughs, animal sounds etc. take conversations off dance floor)
PARTNER DANCE WITH CONSENT (perceive and receive eye contact from others first, then nonverbally navigate dancing together - mimicking, touching, step dancing.
Two 'handy' gestures to use for partner dancing 1. Palms up indicating receptive to dance 2. Palms touching in front of you indicating to finish or declining to dance.
JUDGEMENT FREE (release judgments of yourself & others)
