BLACK IMMIGRANT ROUNDTABLE BY TIFFANY THOMAS U.S. AFRICA DIASPORA SUMMIT

Councilwoman Tiffany D. Thomas is excited to build coalitions and initiate campaigns among Black communities to push for the first Black Immigrants Collective event during the U.S. - AFRICA DIASPORA SUMMIT, which will be on May 23rd. The Black Immigrants Collective educates, engages and provides resources for Black immigrant communities to organize and advocate for Black immigrants facing the emotional and mental impact of the current immigration system and immigrant reality.

Immigration remains a key issue in 2025. Councilwoman Tiffany D. Thomas is spearheading this landmark program in Houston and advocates for immigration policies that protect and improve the lives of our community members in Houston and beyond.

The Black Immigrants Collective event will provide immigrants and their allies with accurate information and resources so that immigrants can know their rights, understand the possible risks, and feel empowered to participate meaningfully, safely, and fully in our democracy.
