Solemn Vespers

Faithful will gather this evening in the Cathedral-Church of the Diocese to pray Solemn Vespers. Vespers will include hymns, the praying of psalms, Scripture readings, a homily, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession within the context of Adoration and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

At the start of Vespers, Bishop-Elect Simon Peter will make a public Profession of Faith and take the Oath of Fidelity as required prior to his Episcopal Ordination the following day. His Episcopal regalia which includes his ring, pectoral cross, miter, and crozier will be blessed on this night.

Note: This is not a Mass.

A reception will follow at Vandebilt Catholic High School in the Brother Alfred Kolb Center.
