The Appalachian Trail-er Bunkhouse By Blue Ridge Hiking Company
200 Lance Avenue, Hot Springs, United States
Celebrate the reopening of Hot Springs after the destruction from Hurricane Helene with a 2-mile hike to Lover's Leap lead by Blue Ridge Hiking Co. with help from Hometown Strong in the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
You’ll find one of the best views in the Southeast on this hike. From Lover’s Leap some 450 feet above the French Broad River (and roughly a stone’s throw away) you can see all of Hot Springs below plus a sweeping view of the French Broad River Valley to the northwest into Tennessee. The climb to the top is well worth it.
Hike leader: Blue Ridge Hiking Co.
There is a $25 fee for this hike, all of which will be donated to ReBuild Hot Springs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on assisting the residents, workers, and businesses of Hot Springs, NC following the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene. In addition, there will be a $5 fee to cover Forest Service fees incurred by Blue Ridge Hiking Co., which is paying the hike leaders for this hike. The $5 fee is payable at the meeting site.
