Ride description
Classic big day out in the Dales on weatherproof trails. Includes the 1000ft descent down the north side of the horsehead pass into picturesque Langstrothdale (well worth some pushing on the way up) returning via the Greenfields forestry concession tracks and then descending the Pennine way back to Horton to complete a circumnavigation of Penyghent.
26 miles; Ascent 2800 feet
Ride grade: Hard due to distance and climbing.
Parking: Helwith Bridge. Carpark opposite row of houses signed for fishery (height restriction – can park on fishery track if bike on roof).
