A little bit of nature’s photography and a whole lot of botanical beauty!
Come join us as you take inspiration from Leonardslee’s landscape to create your own beautifully blue postcards in a photographic art tradition called cyanotype printmaking.
With Chelsea Barton guiding you, you’ll learn the history behind cyanotype photography, how it works, and how to capture natural details using watercolour paper, a special chemical solution, and UV light. No camera needed!
All skill levels are welcomed as everyone will enjoy the easy, approachable techniques of cyanotype printmaking.
You will go on a brief foraging walk nearby the Studio to gather our printmaking botanicals. Should you need an accessible option, there will also be pre-cut snippets for you to choose from at the Studio.
By the end of this colourful workshop, you’ll leave with at least 3 postcards to take home to keep or send to a friend. If you get inspired quickly and have a bit of extra time, you can make as many postcards as you’d like in your time with us!
