Work in Confined Spaces is one of the most dangerous tasks performed in the workplace.

On average 15 workers are killed in Australia Each year whilst working in confined spaces.

Because of this, training is compulsory and employers are obligated to ensure training for the employees is current and up to date.


COURSE CONTENT SUMMARY

At the completion of this course, applicants will be able to safely identify confined spaces, hazards applicable to confined spaces and methods to control these hazards.

• Regulations
• Duties of employers and employees
• Hazard Identification
• Hazard control measures & hierarchy of control
• Exposure Limits TWA & STEL
• Safe work procedures
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Entry permit requirements
• Rescue procedures
• Emergency procedures
• Safe methods of entry and exit
• Restricted spaces
• Duties of attendant, entrant and supervisor


WHAT DO I DO ON THE DAY?

• Training is a combination of theory and practical—8 hours.


WHAT DO I GET ON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE?

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces and a wallet sized card.
The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance (www.usi.gov.au)
