This is our 2nd Strawberry Educational Grow Day! I learned a lot from the first one and will be much more prepared with some new ideas!
The event is free! Everyone that shows up gets a free strawberry plant and a small meal to enjoy before the event. During the event we will plant our strawberry in its own pot and learn how to take care of it over the next few months, with a little determination and some luck, you might have your own home grown strawberries to eat next spring!
I will only prepare enough supplies for those who respond to the event. Please respond as going to ensure you get your free plant and meal. I will only be able to provide a plant to the first 100 participants.
The main focus of this event is to learn how strawberries grow and what we can do to keep them growing, along with propagation for next year. The other equally important focus is involving children in agriculture, so that they might learn to grow their own food if they choose in the future. All children at the event will have priority in receiving their plant prior to any adult attendees.
We will set up next to playground across from the baseball fields.
