Join former State Geologist Ken Bradbury and NERN’s Susan Kennedy on a late morning hike at this 83-acre gem of a park.
The Ledge divides the park into upper and lower areas which also provides a breathtaking overlook of the famous Horicon Marsh and surrounding countryside. Learn about the park’s 420-million-year-old bedrock geology and how the cliff faces were shaped by glaciers and thousands of years of erosion.
The park’s hiking trails wind along the ledge, between interesting and unique rock formations and through heavily wooded areas. Some moderate hiking may be required and be sure to bring water and dress for the weather.
Pre-registration is required, and on-line donations are accepted at time of registration. Only 15 spots are available, so sign up soon! Find more details and register by June 18th at www.wiledge.org.
