Miranda is a veteran reporter and editor who specializes in stories about government accountability and secrecy. She spent twenty years as an award-winning editor and reporter for the Washington Post. A former Fulbright Scholar and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism at DePauw University, her work has appeared in The New York Times, Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting, USAToday and the McClatchy newspapers.
A key part of her book tells the story of secrecy about forever chemicals in the drinking water in Hoosick Falls, and how residents overcame the information blockade.

Her book will be on sale to benefit the Museum.
Miranda will be appearing with Michael Hickey, one of the
accidental activists and heroes in the book, who has led
the way for Hoosick Falls to obtain cleaner drinking water
and medical monitoring to ascertain the impact of
forever chemicals on the community’s health.
