Mr Dark Horse is het alter ego van songwriter Ruud van Diepen, afgestudeerd drummer aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Beïnvloed door Audioslave, Nothing But Thieves, Porcupine Tree, Stone Temple Pilots en Tool houdt de muziek ergens het midden tussen pop, grunge en progressieve metal. Sinds eind 2023 verzorgt Ruud akoestische optredens met Mr Dark Horse nummers en covers van o.a. Muse, Saybia en Pearl Jam. Hij speelde o.a. in Arnhem, Hilversum, Manilla, Rotterdam en zijn “hometown” Hoorn.
