After Hours: Speaker Series - Spinner Dolphins of Hawaiʻi

Megan McElligott is a doctoral candidate at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in the Marine Biology Graduate Program. Her research interests include bioacoustics and behavior of marine mammals. Her talk centers on using underwater acoustic recordings to monitor when and where spinner dolphins get their daily rest around Oʻahu, Maui Nui, and Hawaiʻi. The goal of her research is to help wildlife managers identify important spinner dolphin daytime habitat and track habitat-use changes that may occur due to varying levels of human disturbance.
