Talk on the Wild Side: Vernal Pools
Our "Talk on the Wild Side" program is back starting Tuesday, March 10th! We will be joined by Carlin Shew & Abbey Welch. Carlin, a returning "Talk on the Wild Side" presenter, is the FORCES (Friends of Recreation, Conservation and Environmental Stewardship) program specialist for New York State Parks. Abbey is the Finger Lakes Regional Stewardship Project Coordinator for New York State Parks and resides in Honeoye.
Carlin & Abby will introduce vernal pools and the work done at our neighboring NYS Park, Harriet Hollister Spencer Recreation Area; known for its large vernal pool complex. Our presenters will cover all things vernal pools, from the species this unique habitat supports to the process of mapping and surveying the pools.
