On August 2nd, the Waterfront Historical Fencing Club at Waterfront MMA will be hosting a historical martial arts seminar with a twist.We will be partnering with our Judo/Jujitsu instructors to give a begginer friendly introductory course to grappling at the sword.
When your sword techniques go south and you find yourself in arm's reach of your opponent, a solid foundation of grappeling will go a long wat to imporving your perfromance at the next HEMA tournament. Or if you have a strong history in non sword based martial arts, come try your hand at adding a historical weapon to your well known techniques.
Lessons will include:
Fall Training
Basic throws
Sword-centric disarms + Weapon manipulation
Afterword, we will be hosting Waterfont Fencing's classic HEMA Arcade open weapon tournament with fighting food and fun as usual!
