Meet in the parking lot at the base of the Spit.
The timing for this trip coincides with the high tide so seabirds will be closer in. Winter resident ROCK SANDPIPERS are here--maybe with some DUNLIN, too--and GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES. A BLACK TURNSTONE was seen at Land's End on the 8th. It was very interested to hear about a SIBERIAN PIPIT sighting, with photo, last Wednesday near Louie's Lagoon. (Our previous AMERICAN PIPIT was officially "split" so some are now SIBERIAN PIPITS and some are AMERICAN PIPITS.)
Bring binoculars and spotting scope if you have one, field guide or birding app, dress appropriately.
