Join us for an exclusive 90-minute masterclass with flatpicking phenomenon Jake Eddy! Before he takes the stage for tonight’s concert, Jake will peel back the curtain on the techniques that have made him one of the most exciting young guitarists in bluegrass today.
Whether you are an aspiring flatpicker or an experienced player looking to break through speed plateaus, this workshop is designed to upgrade your playing. Jake is known for his relaxed, approachable teaching style and his ability to demystify complex mechanics.
What Jake Will Cover:
The Mechanics of Speed: A deep dive into right-hand technique, including his "double escape" picking motion and how to maintain relaxation at high tempos.
Rhythm & Groove: How to lock in a solid "boom-chuck" rhythm and be a supportive accompanist in duo and jam settings.
Fiddle Tune Vocabulary: Building a mental archive of traditional tunes and using them as a launchpad for improvisation.
Fretboard Visualization: How to navigate the neck fluently without getting stuck in "box" patterns.
Format: This session will include demonstration, breakdown of concepts, and an open Q&A. Bring your guitar and your questions!
Level: Open to all levels, but intermediate players will get the most out of the technical breakdowns.
