At The Bluestocking Bookshop, we know the magic of a good story often starts with the quiet labor behind the scenes: the hands that stock shelves, brew the coffee, clean up messes, answer questions, make things feel safe, kind, and human. The work that goes unnoticed, and the people who do it anyway.
Labor of Love Day is our tribute to the essential workers, the front-line service staff, the caregivers, the tradespeople, the organizers, the artists, the teachers, the shift workers. The dreamers who hold this community up every single day. Quietly woven into that celebration, we’re also marking our 6th anniversary, a milestone we’ve reached thanks to our community of readers, creators, believers, and book-loving builders. We’ll have small surprises throughout the day for customers who work in customer service, education, healthcare, and other labor-intensive industries. Just our way of saying thank you. You’ve done so much. Let us hand you a little joy in return.
