On Sunday, August 31st, 2025, Historisch Schermgilde Limburg will host a special edition of our monthly Fechtschule, this time by invitation of Hoensbroek Castle!
Weโll be guests at one of the largest castles in the Netherlands, where weโre allowed to train and spar freely in one of their indoor halls, in the courtyard, and in the meadow behind the castle.

The Fechtschule is a monthly open sparring and training event hosted by HSGL, where fencers from any club and of any level are welcome to spar, practice, exchange ideas, and socialise in an informal and inclusive environment.

Because we are attending at the invitation of Kasteel Hoensbroek, our presence also acts as a demonstration and entertainment for the castleโs regular visitors.
We ask that participants remain open to questions from the public, occasionally give short demonstrations, and be willing to โplayโ a little with guests.

Internal registrations are already open for members of HSGL and De Zwaardkring, while external registrations for other fencers will open in the near future. Keep an eye on this page!
