Woodham Fest: 70s Edition

Did you know, South Woodham Ferrers is turning 50? Join us by stepping back in time and celebrating over a 70s themed weekend.

This year Woodham Fest is commemorating the formal turf-cutting at the start of Essex County Council's New Town of South Woodham Ferrers in 1975. Activities are taking place in both Woodham Ferrers and South Woodham Ferrers.

Here are some of the events taking place at South Woodham Ferrers Library this year:

Friday 27 June

QUIZ NIGHT: Join us for a groovy 70s themed quiz night! Test your knowledge and have fun with friends! 🪩🕺7.30pm-9.30pm

Saturday 28 June

FAMILY CRAFT EVENT: Join us for 70s themed craft and games. Get creative with Spirograph, play some arcade games and learn about the decade on our themed trail.
🕹️10am - 12noon.

LOCAL HISTORY EXHIBITION AND TALK: ‘The Promised Land’. Talk marking the 50 anniversary of the turf cutting ceremony at the beginning of the South Woodham Ferrers ‘new town’ project. 🎨 2pm

LOCAL WI GROUPS DISPLAY OF 70S MEMORABELIA: artefacts and kitchenalia from the 1970s. Come and relive your memories and show your children and grandchildren how we used to live! 🎉All day
