SWF Men's Shed is all about Community, Camaraderie, and Craft, and this year became a charitable organisation. We are proud to support the health and wellbeing of local men. It serves as a vital hub where men, primarily aged 18 and over, can gather in a friendly and inclusive environment to connect, share skills, and combat social isolation.
It's more than just a workshop, the Shed is a place for friendship and a sense of purpose. It operates on the principle that both conversation and creative activity are essential for wellbeing.
What's On Offer?
The primary goal of the SWF Men't Shed is to provide a safe and welcoming space. Members can choose how they want to get involved, with no pressure or expectations.
* Workshop & Activities: The Shed is equipped for a variety of hands-on projects. Key activities include:
* Woodworking
* DIY projects
* General tinkering and repairs
* Crafting community items (like bird boxes or hedgehog houses)
* Social Hub: For many, the main draw is the social aspect. The kettle is always on, and members are encouraged to simply drop in for a "cuppa and a biscuit," a chat, and to enjoy the camaraderie. You do not need any prior skills or even an interest in woodworking to join; many attend just for the company.
* Skill Sharing: It is a place for members to share their knowledge, learn new skills from one another, or work together on personal or community projects.

The Men's Shed movement was founded to address loneliness and improve the mental and physical health of men. The SWF Men's Shed provides a supportive environment where members can find friendship, stay active, and feel a valued part of their community.
